Keith Fleck founded the business in 1954 after serving with the local Falstaff distributor for several years as a driver, salesman, and manager. Gradually, he built the business up to a point where its facility at 1701 C St. S.W. was no longer large enough, so in 1968 a new building was erected at 1825 Edgewood Road in Southwest Cedar Rapids. The mid 70's saw the advent of Lite beer, and sales skyrocketed necessitating the need for several expansions. By 1981, Fleck had become a leading beer wholesaler in the Cedar Rapids area, due in large part to extremely successful Miller Brewing Company brands.

Coors Brewing Company and Pabst Brewing Company brands were acquired through the purchase of Bell Distributing in late 1986. In the most significant move since initially purchasing the distributorship, Fleck Sales Company acquired the assets and distribution rights formerly held by Doe Beverage Company of Iowa City and Burlington, Iowa on November 1, 1993. In 1999, Fleck added product lines formerly carried by Graf Beverage, Oxford, IA, and LTD Distributing of Burlington, Iowa. Subsequent acquisitions include Coors and Pabst territory around Ottumwa in 2000, Paul Jerabek Wholesaler, of Cedar Rapids in July of 2001, and Schwartz Distributing in Ottumwa in 2008.

In an industry where profit margins have been eroding and consolidation is prevalent, Fleck Sales has poised itself to remain competitive for years to come by becoming one of the largest alcohol beverage wholesalers in the state.

  Dudley started working at Fleck Sales full time in 1978, and has performed various duties including Warehouseman, Draught Tech, Operations Manager and finally, President.

  Vice President

  Jeff is responsible for product ordering and logistics. He has also performed various jobs with the company since the mid 70’s.

  Vice President

  Dave works in Sales and Operations support. He has also performed several jobs at Fleck Sales since the 80’s.

  Mike has a rich background in both the wholesale and brewing industries. He has been with Fleck Sales since 2001.

  Vice President - Finance and Accounting

  Neil is responsible for all accounting, insurance, banking, retirement and many other operational functions at Fleck Sales since 1999.

  Debbie DeVore

  Administrative Support Manager

  Debbie helps manage all office functions, as well as performs human resource and sales support duties. Deb has been with the company since 1986, performing every office function.

  Tim Manderscheid

  Branch Sales Manager of the West Burlington Operation

  Tim has worked his way into his current position after rising from Sales Supervisor, Account Manager and after performing various jobs in the food industry.

Finally, the heart of the company is made up of the remaining personnel who are on the streets and in the warehouse day in and day out selling, delivering, loading and servicing Fleck Sales Company products. Fleck Sales employees approximately 115 full and part time employees in the two locations covering 21 southeast Iowa counties.
